Maureen A. Hart
Maureen Hart comes to Hart Law Offices from a previous position as an administrative assistant for the doctoral programs
at Marywood University.
She is Attorney Hart’s stepmother, and was previously married
to the late Jorge Garcia-Pons, with whom she has a daughter, Rebecca, who currently resides in Amherst, Massachusetts.
A graduate of Wilkes University, where she was named Outstanding Graduate of her class, Maureen was previously a journalist for the former Scrantonian/Scranton Tribune newspapers for 18 years, where she won numerous writing awards. Maureen currently serves as editor of The Dunmorean, a monthly newspaper. She has taught English grammar, writing, and literature on the high school level, and was author of a textbook on Feature Writing.

Maureen serves as secretary to the board of the Scranton Shakespeare Festival. She is an active member of the Confederation of Union Generals (COUG), a living history group whose mission is to teach the history of the mid-19th century. She does presentations in the persona of Maria DeMayo Scott, wife of Lt. Gen. Winfield Scott, who is portrayed by her husband, John Hart Jr.
She maintains the Hart Free Library, housed in a British phone booth in the Green Ridge section of Scranton, and is the very proud grandmother of Padraig Liam, son of her stepdaughter, Elizabeth McDonald, and her husband Marcus McDonald.
While only being employed at HART LAW for a few months, she has obtained her notary public license and has quickly immersed herself with legal knowledge to perform her job duties.
